These weeknight meatballs with savory tomato sauce are a favorite of my family’s. Growing up, my mom would make them almost weekly and we never got tired of them.
In addition to being delicious and comforting, these meatballs are extremely budget friendly. Serve them over fluffy white rice with a simple side salad or some green beans and your meal is complete!

Do These Weeknight Meatballs Make Good Leftovers?
Typically, because this meal is so quick and easy to prepare I make them right before we are ready to eat, but you can definitely make them ahead of time or even double the recipe for leftovers!
For my family of four, I use one pound of ground beef and we almost always eat it all! However, this is a meal you could easily double. Or, if there are only two or three in your family, you can make it and have these delicious savory meatballs again later in the week!
Is This Meal Inexpensive and Budget Friendly?
With the price of groceries on the rise, trying to stay in budge can be difficult for many families. This meal, however, is very budget friendly.
Weeknight Meatballs in Savory Tomato Sauce – Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (I use 85/15)
- 2 cans condensed tomato soup
- 1/8 plus 1/4 cups worchestire sauce
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup Italian seasoned breadcrubms

Directions
Combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs and 1/8 cup worcestershire sauce in a medium bowl.

Next, mix everything together really well. If you don’t mind getting a little messy, use your hands to combine everything. I’ve found that’s the best way to make sure all ingredients are well incorporated!

Spray a large pan with non-stick cooking spray. I love using my Le Creuset braised for this meal! Once your pan is ready, form meatball mixture into 1-1 1/2 inch meatballs.

Turn burner to medium heat and brown all sides of the meatballs. Turn each one of them often to make sure all sides get evenly browned.

While the meatballs are browning, mix the two cans of tomato soup, two soup cans of water, and 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce together. I usually just use the same bowl I had the meatball mixture in because it is one less dish I have to wash after!
Pour the soup mixture into the pan of browned meatballs and cook on low for about 30-40 minutes.

Once the meatballs are done cooking, serve them over some fluffy white rice or pasta. My family also love green beans as a side dish with these meatballs.

The delicious smell of these weeknight meatballs in a savory tomato sauce will fill your home and have your family hungry and begging for seconds!
For dessert try my Andes mint brownies or banana pudding poke cake!
